Guide
An online guitar tuner that follows your score's tuning
Practicing a Drop D or half-step-down song means retuning every time. The tuner in ShedTab's practice room knows the tuning of the score you opened, so it shows the target note for each string straight away.
What's different
- Follows the score: if the score is Drop D, the 6th string target becomes D2.
- Finds the string: it highlights which string you plucked.
- Nothing to install: just your browser's microphone. Sound never leaves your device.
Reading it
- Needle left of centre: flat — tighten the string.
- Right of centre: sharp — loosen it.
- Within ±5 cents it turns green.
How to
- Open a score: open the score you want to practice in ShedTab.
- Turn on the tuner: press Tuner in the bottom bar and allow microphone access.
- Pluck one string at a time: the target note and how far off you are appear.
- Tune and play: move on when the needle turns green, then start practicing.
Questions
- The microphone isn't picked up Allow the microphone in your browser's site settings. On a phone, make sure no other app is using it.
- Can I use the tuner without a score? Right now it lives in the practice room. Open the sample song from the home page to use it with standard tuning.
